Staying Informed and Connected: Navigating the Impact of Federal Actions on Nonprofits

Alongside our nonprofit partners, The Capacity Lab continues to closely monitor ongoing disruptions stemming from recent federal actions and their potential impact on local organizations. Across New York State and within our own community, an increasing number of nonprofits have reported negative effects from these developments. As highlighted by the New York Council of Nonprofits (NYCON), there is also a growing concern about the possible domino effect of federal decisions on state funding for the sector.

In response to this uncertainty, we are committed to keeping nonprofit leaders informed and connected by sharing timely updates, advocacy opportunities, and practical resources.

National Advocacy and Resources

The National Council of Nonprofits has been a steadfast advocate for nonprofits at the federal level. They continue to monitor key developments, advocate for nonprofits, and equip organizations with tools and guidance to navigate these complex times. Key resources include:

State Resources

The New York Council of Nonprofits continues to work closely with the National Council of Nonprofits to amplify national updates while also sharing resources relevant to NYS nonprofits which includes this upcoming webinar:

Helping Nonprofits Navigate Evolving Issues in the Sector
NYS Attorney General’s Charities Bureau
April 28, 2-3 p.m.

We encourage local nonprofits to follow both of these trusted partners online and on social media to stay up to date on emerging issues.

Local Resources

To help local nonprofits navigate these uncertainties, The Capacity Lab will continue to share updates and information from the National Council of Nonprofits, New York Council of Nonprofits and other trusted partners. A new section has also been added to our online Resources Library to make it easy to access tools, templates and information to help your organization adapt and respond.

We remain committed to being a partner during this time, and we welcome input from nonprofit leaders. If you have specific needs or ideas on how we can better support your work, please reach out and let us know. Contact us via email at info@thecapacitylab.org or give us a call at (716) 366-4892.

Together, we can navigate these challenges and continue to strengthen the nonprofit sector in Chautauqua County.
