The Capacity Lab Announces Departure of Project Director Noah Goodling

The Capacity Lab, a collaborative initiative aimed at supporting local nonprofits, announces the departure of Project Director Noah Goodling. Noah has accepted a new career opportunity with the Nonprofit Support Group, a regional capacity building effort serving the eight counties of Western NY and Monroe County.

During his tenure as the inaugural Project Director, Noah played a key role in launching The Capacity Lab’s program offerings and has helped to strategically connect nonprofits with one another and local, regional and statewide resources.

Notably, Noah organized two mini-conferences for nonprofit professionals on collaborative shared services and strategic planning, both of which had been identified as areas of need and interest by local nonprofits. In addition to hosted trainings, Noah successfully recruited eight nonprofit leaders to participate in a 7-month leadership program with the Institute for Nonprofit Practice, a national capacity building organization, which is now an ongoing program opportunity for local nonprofit professionals.

Last year, he also led the launch of The Capacity Lab’s website that serves as a centralized hub for nonprofit-related news, programs and resources. The website houses an online resource library of tools and templates for nonprofit organizations. Additionally, throughout his time as Project Director, Noah has grown engagement with local nonprofit professionals through Nonprofit News, a monthly email newsletter of upcoming professional development, resources and funding opportunities for nonprofits.

To build on this work and ensure The Capacity Lab remains a vital resource for local nonprofit organizations and professionals, dedicated staff time from each of the participating funders has been committed to help advance the initiative’s key objectives of investing in local nonprofit professionals, connecting information and resources, and supporting shared services.

The Capacity Lab is a collaborative initiative across several funders including the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, Ralph C. Sheldon Foundation and the United Ways of Chautauqua County, with funding support from the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation.
